ABOUT LOUISE HOUGHTON

It was with the company Big Earth that Louise gained her production experience, working on projects such as 'Long Way Round' where Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman went round the world on their motorbikes. With the same company, Louise is developing a new show about being British which will launch alongside a tongue-in-cheek book on the subject.
Louise has also contributed to the book 'How to be a Presenter' and the sequel to this will be on the shelves this coming summer. Written by Kathryn Wolfe.
With a base in Europe, you can also find Louise working for companies such as Samsung, hosting their press events and the launch of new products alongside Suzi Perry.
Louise has a background in acting, having appeared in BBC series like Holby City and High Hopes. Her latest lead role in a feature also sat at No 1 in the US Gay film charts at the beginning of last year.
Walking along the coast is one of the things, Louise loves to do in her spare time but being creative is what she does best. When she is not in front of the camera, you can find her making cards, picture canvases, writing poetry or baking cakes. Wedding cakes, in fact, have become her speciality but she can’t wait for the day when she gets to give Gordon Ramsey a run for his money with her carrot cake recipe!
Louise currently works for DWTV (Deutsche Welle) hosting their daily live lifestyle magazine show called EUROMAXX. This programme has something for everyone as it covers topics from sport to music and food to art. In the role as a broadcast journalist, Louise loves to be able to delve into current affairs and research a topic fully before going on air live and talking about it. The studios are in Berlin but the show is broadcast internationally. In the UK you can find it on MY Channel - Sky 203.
Having begun her presenting career hosting the FIA European Drag Racing Championships for SkySports and Channel 5, Louise moved on to work in music. A few of the shows she worked on included a music quiz show called “Music Tree” and a classical music based chat show called “Classy”.
Louise has also worked at Festivals around the UK but thinks that there is nowhere better to chat to bands than with a backdrop of London’s skyline. This is the essence of ‘Balcony TV: Music Sessions’. It gives the audience music with a view. The web channel has been running since 2006 and is produced in over 50 cities around the world. For the first time though, it is ba feature on television at London Live TV - the Independent’s new channel on Freeview Channel 8, Virgin 159, Sky 117 and Youview 8. Louise is exciting to be both co-producing and co-hosting this show and is constantly praying that it won’t rain!
